As always, We Mostrami want to be a window on the world for young artists, giving them the opportunity to experiment and interface with different realities and tools. In this particular period, dialogue and exposure through the web and social media has become fundamental.
This is why we have decided, in collaboration with Mid-Century Home, to create HangYourArt project.
Mid-Century Home is the online magazine dedicated to modernist architecture. Inspired by the values and styles of Modernism, Mid-Century Home offers a selection of the best homes, architects and ideas for contemporary living. And it is from these houses that we decided to launch HangYourArt: a digital art contest on social media that combine art and architecture.
Through Instagram, we will launch some photos of houses that show at least one wall with an empty space: it will be up to you to fill it, digitally, with a photo of your work; in this way, your art will appear as a integral part of the furniture.
The main goal is to give to young artists the opportunity to have visibility through the most popular social network, with millions of users, and get involved in a slightly different way than usual.
SOME TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Regulation
Every two weeks, starting from the end of November, we will post on our social account a photo of a room in one of the houses published in Mid-Century Home. It will bring back an empty wall. Based on the layout, colors and style of the room, it will be up to you to digitally insert the photo of your work, positioning it where and as you see fit, completing the interior decor and becoming part of it.
HERE YOU ARE THE PICTURE THAT WE HAVE CHOSEN FOR THE CONTEST
Once you have created the image, you just have to share it on your Instagram profile using the hashtags #hangyourart, #HYA in the description and tag the instagram pages of @Mostramiart and @Midcenturyhome.
You could post until 25th of January 2021 . Everyone can participate with a maximum of three posts for each house(so maximum 9 posts); participation is obviously free.
Winners
How is the winner elected? The decision will be based 50% on the likes received from the posted photo and 50% on the judgment of Mostrami commission.
What happens if I win? The winner’s profile will be shared in the @Mostramiart profile stories and included in the series of dedicated featured stories. The winning post will then be shared again on the Instagram profile of @Midcenturyhome, a profile with a wide and international audience. What a good opportunity!
We’re also going to project a small exhibition for the winner in our gallery in Fabbrica Del Vapore, Milan.
